Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Shiftnimbo collects when you use our website, the Shiftnimbo mobile app and the Shiftnimbo company platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Shiftnimbo is operated by Shiftnimbo (“Shiftnimbo”, “we”, “us”). Shiftnimbo connects companies that need shift workers with workers looking for shifts, and handles scheduling, clock-ins, timesheets and the records around them. Questions about this policy go to privacy@shiftnimbo.com.
When a company uses Shiftnimbo to manage its own staff, that company decides what it does with its workers’ information, and we process that information on its behalf. For everything else — your account, the marketplace and our own services — we are responsible for your information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a one-way hash), and whether you have turned on two-factor sign-in.
- Worker profile: headline, skills and roles, experience, availability, travel preferences (such as how far you’re willing to commute and your minimum hourly rate) and your home address.
- Documents and credentials: files you upload such as certifications, licences, a CV or cover letter, and their issue and expiry dates.
- Employment onboarding: if a company hires you through Shiftnimbo, the information needed to employ and pay you, which can include identity documents, employment eligibility (Form I-9) information and direct-deposit bank details.
- Company details: for company accounts, the company name, industry, work locations, shift details, pay rates, and the names and contact details of team members and site supervisors.
- Messages: messages you send to companies or workers through Shiftnimbo.
Information collected as you use Shiftnimbo
- Location at clock-in and clock-out: when you clock in or out of a shift, the app records your device’s location, its accuracy, and your distance from the worksite, so the company can confirm you were on site. We collect location only at those moments and only with your permission — not in the background.
- Work activity: shifts you apply for or are assigned, clock-in and clock-out times, breaks, timesheet changes (with who made them and why), approvals and a reliability score based on your attendance.
- Security and device information: IP address, browser or device type, and sign-in sessions, which we use to keep accounts secure and to keep an audit trail of important changes.
Information from others
- Companies you work with may add notes, decisions on your applications, timesheet corrections and verification results for your credentials.
- Address services: we convert addresses into map coordinates using Google Maps Platform so we can match workers with nearby shifts and check clock-in distance.
The Shiftnimbo app does not contain advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking tools.
How we use information
- To create and run your account and sign you in securely.
- To show workers shifts that match their location, skills, credentials and preferences.
- To let companies post shifts, review applicants and manage their teams.
- To verify attendance, build timesheets and support accurate pay.
- To remind workers before a credential expires, and to send shift and account notifications.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, keep an audit trail, and keep Shiftnimbo secure.
- To provide support, fix problems and improve Shiftnimbo.
- To meet legal, tax and employment-record obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the EU or UK), we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service, legal obligations, and — for device location — your consent, which you can withdraw in your device settings at any time.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
- Companies you apply to or work for see your profile, the documents and credentials relevant to the shift, your application, your clock-in and clock-out records (including location and distance from the site), and your timesheets.
- Workers see the shift details a company publishes, including the worksite address and the site contact’s name and phone number.
- Service providers who run parts of Shiftnimbo for us under contract, such as cloud hosting and file storage (Amazon Web Services), mapping and address lookup (Google Maps Platform), and email, text and push-notification delivery. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
- Business transfers: if Shiftnimbo is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except for records we must keep longer by law — for example timesheets and pay records, and employment-eligibility records, which are kept for the period employment and tax law requires. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis within a further 30 days.
How we protect information
Information is encrypted in transit. Passwords and sign-in tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. Uploaded documents are kept in private storage and opened only through short-lived, access-checked links, and each company’s data is kept separate from every other company’s. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update most of your information in the app. Email us for a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your account and personal information — see how to delete your account.
- Location: you can turn off location access in your device settings. You may then need a manager to confirm your clock-ins.
- Notifications: you can choose which email, text and push notifications you receive in your notification settings or your device settings.
Depending on where you live — including California and other US states, the EU, the UK and elsewhere — you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, to receive your data in a portable format, or to complain to a data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. To make a request, email privacy@shiftnimbo.com; we may need to confirm your identity first and will respond within the time the law allows.
If you work for a company that manages its own staff on Shiftnimbo, send requests about that company’s records to the company; we’ll help them respond.
International transfers
Shiftnimbo is operated from, and stores data in, the United States. If you use Shiftnimbo from elsewhere, your information will be transferred there, with safeguards required by law.
Children
Shiftnimbo is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
